In order to comply with the new Danish accounting law, it must be possible to handle NemHandel. With Nemhandel you can send and receive in the national OIOUBL format and the international Peppol BIS format.

The Bookkeeping law prescribes that you can do the following:

• Must be able to send and receive electronic invoices and credit notes in the OIOUBL format
• Must be able to send an ‘Application response’ (Business Receipt) upon receipt of an electronic invoice in the OIOUBL format
• Must be able to send and receive electronic invoices and credit notes in the Peppol BIS format
• Must be able to send a ‘Message level response’ when receiving an electronic invoice in the Peppol BIS format

Nemhandel is a common public digital infrastructure for use in the exchange of business documents for private companies and public authorities in Denmark. Since 2005, Nemhandel has been legally obliged to make use of exchange of business documents with the authorities in Denmark.

Nemhandel consists of a digital contact register with all Danish companies and authorities that accepts digital business documents. In addition, there are a number of access points that support secure and fast exchange of digital business documents such as e-invoices between senders and receives nationally and internationally.
