SAF-T FAQ
We have collected here a number of frequently asked questions and answers in connection with SAF-T.
SAF-T One Voucher
What is One Voucher?
The existing functionality for financial journals (the general journal, fixed asset journal, vendor payment journal, and so on) lets you enter multiple sub-ledger transactions (customer, vendor, fixed assets, project, and bank) in the context of a single voucher. Microsoft refers to this functionality as One voucher.
Setup One Voucher in Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO
You can create a single voucher by using one of the following methods: Set up the journal name (General ledger > Journal setup > Journal names) so that the New voucher field is set to One voucher number only. Every line that you add to the journal is now included in the same voucher. Therefore, the voucher can be entered as a multiline voucher, as an account/offset account on the same line, or as a combination.
Do Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO support One Voucher and SAF-T?
NO
Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO do not support the combination of One Voucher and SAF-T reporting. Microsoft recommends switching off One Voucher functionality if you want to have SAF-T functionality.
The SAF-T module from axsolutions supports One Voucher and SAFT reporting for Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO.
SAF-T Large data volume
The Norwegian Tax Agency (“Skatteetaten”) can only receive files of a maximum of 2Gb. Most larger companies will exceed this limit when reporting data for an entire fiscal year. With axsolution’s SAF-T module, you can split the report into several files to reach under 2 Gb.
SAF-T file size
Our experience with larger Norwegian companies that have tried other solutions or standard Dynamics AX 2012R3 is that it has been difficult to get export data out within a reasonable time. Our solution is built for large data volumes and is tested with large data volumes at companies with over 350 million financial transactions per year.
With the Danish SAF-T there are 19 data areas, while in the Norwegian version there are only 7 data areas. This means that the Danish version makes much greater demands on speed with larger data volumes than the Norwegian version. This means that several companies will have challenges with high response times if they do not choose the right solution.
SAF-T Dynamics AX
In Norway, a SAF-T version was released for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012R3 only. Microsoft Dynamics 2012R3 is no longer updated by Microsoft. In Norway, a SAF-T version was released for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012R3 only. Over 50% of all our customers who have used AX2012R3 chose our solution instead of the standard solution. The other versions of Dynamics AX and Axapta did not have a standard module for handling SAF-T in Norway. The Danish requirements for SAF-T are not supported by any of Dynamics AX and Dynamics Axapta.
